Automotive Lubricant Product Guide
Auto lubricants are solutions from compounds responsible for reducing friction in vehicle parts. Auto Lubricants also help clean and cool engines, protect against oxidation and corrosion buildups, dissipate heat and maintain temperature, prevent wearing, etc
Knowing the appropriate lubricant to apply at the right part is dependent on the type and purpose of the application.
For engine parts, the best auto lubricant to opt for is the Engine Oils: it contains crude oil base stock and quality-improving additives. It has a fluid texture and low viscosity.
For application on chains, bearings, linkages, and gears, Grease is the most appropriate auto lubricant: it contains base oil, thickener, and additional additives. It has a thicker texture.
For loosening nuts or boots, the best option of lubricant is the Penetrating lubricant: it contains base oil with very low viscosity. It flows faster and is best for fast-moving engine parts, unlike grease. It is not long-lasting and hence requires frequent reapplication.
For application on threaded rods, small locks, and hinges, Dry Lubricant is the most appropriate: it consists of liquids and fine particles of dry lubricants like graphite. It is not messy when applied as the liquid dries quickly leaving the dry lubricants.
